Colton Dean has lived throughout the Albuquerque area for almost 27 years. In that time, he attended Jefferson Middle School and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 2001. After High School, Colton moved to Ventura, California to attend film school. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Video Production in 2005, Colton returned to New Mexico to get involved in our burgeoning film industry. Colton always had an interest in medicine, and so Colton returned to CNM and obtained his EMT/Paramedic license, and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medicine in 2015. From 2008 to 2021, Colton worked on an ambulance responding to 911 calls and transporting medical patients between facilities and urgent care. Colton currently works at the Raymond G. Murphy Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Four years ago, Colton settled in Albuquerque’s International District and immediately became involved in the community. Colton joined the board of his neighborhood association, volunteered at Endorphin Power Company, and is active with the Democratic Party as a State Central Committee Member and Ward Chair.

Colton looks forward to using his skills and experience both inside and outside of politics to communicate the needs of HD 19 as your New Mexico state legislator.
